I teach mathematics in a STEM program. One of my best days was the culminating competition day for students to compete with their robots. We divided all the students into teams with five robots each. They were tasked with completing a series of challenges from completing autonomous mazes, blindfolded search and rescue missions, robot soccer, and other tasks. All these challenges generated points for their team. The finale was a round robin tournament of capture the "ball." It was so much fun to see students driving their robots and battling with each other. They had put so much work into creating unique designs and coding special programs for their robot to perform special features. Students researched so different items from this Robot C website. I felt that all the students and staff were able to celebrate each students contribution to their robot. Below is a photograph of two robots going head to head playing capture the ball.
