In a reading lesson recently, I read
aloud We’re All Wonders by R.J. Palacio.Throughout this lesson, students were encouraged to think about unity and encouragement to build their School Family.
· They had a discussion about how there are many different types of
people in the world, but that Earth is big enough for everyone, we are all
wonders, and there is plenty of room for kindness. The students thought about people in their School Family and acts of kindness. With these acts of kindness, they added hearts to the Kindness
Tree. For an extension activity, a mask was created to show that members of the School Family are the same and different, but all
connected. The picture was shared on Twitter on the following website-Mrs. Pfaff's Class. To me, this was a great day in education but HOPE it was a great day for them.
